Opening a browser, typing claude.ai, waiting for it to load, then tapping into the chat box — that's three or four taps before you've even started typing. For something you use daily, that friction adds up and quietly discourages quick, casual use.

People assume that's just what using a website on a tablet is like. It doesn't have to be.

You can add Claude to your tablet's home screen as its own icon — tap it and it opens straight into Claude, feeling like a dedicated app even when it's running through the browser. One tap instead of three or four.
This is a general tablet/browser feature (sometimes called "Add to Home Screen" or "Install"), not something unique to Claude — but it makes daily use noticeably smoother.

Example: Put the Claude icon right next to your notes and email apps. When a quick question comes up mid-task, it's one tap away instead of a full browser detour.

If the option isn't visible right away, check that you're using the browser's native menu (not a third-party browser without this feature). Safari and Chrome both support it on most tablets.
A faster path to Claude doesn't require an app store download or a paid plan — just a home-screen shortcut you already have access to.
